After averaging well into six figures during the fourth quarter of 2021, LNGC spot rates have tumbled in recent weeks and are now reported to have dropped below $60,000/day. This is consistent with Marsoft’s forecast, and with our view that the spot high rates from Q4 were driven less by shipping market fundamentals and more by the unprecedented levels of natural gas prices in Europe and Asia. Today’s rates are consistent with market fundamentals. We look forward to providing an update to our forecasts next month.
