Shipping Market Senior Analyst/Consultant
Marsoft Inc. is a leading international maritime consulting firm with offices in London, Boston, and Oslo. Marsoft seeks an experienced market analyst/consultant with a strong background in the shipping markets and/or international trade.
We are looking for an outstanding individual who can take on significant research and consulting responsibilities. These responsibilities will include:

Carefully monitoring developments in the dry bulk market, and possibly other markets

Preparing quarterly and interim/event-driven market reports covering the dry bulk market

Making market and business presentations to clients
-
Sales support and business development
-
Contributing to ad-hoc consulting projects
This is an opportunity for someone who can identify key issues and make informed judgments about potential future developments, while challenging assumptions where appropriate. This is a high-profile position in the maritime industry and offers an opportunity to shape debate on investment, regulatory, and financial matters confronting the industry.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent writing and communication skills, and be able to meet deadlines. A degree in Economics is a plus, and proficiency with statistics and econometric modeling, as well as with Microsoft Office, is also important.

GreenScreen Project Manager
Join Marsoft’s rapidly growing GreenScreen project team for a unique opportunity to support the decarbonization of the maritime shipping industry. As a member of Marsoft’s GreenScreen project team, you will play a key role in providing innovative shipowners with access to carbon credit revenue, which helps finance investments to make both older and new vessels more fuel-efficient.
The GreenScreen Project Manager is responsible for managing digital data and documents related to vessels enrolled in Marsoft’s GreenScreen, interacting with owners’ technical staff to obtain vessel documents and monitoring data, interacting with Marsoft subcontractors to oversee and review technical analyses of GreenScreen vessels, preparing reports for owners based on GreenScreen analyses, and interacting with Marsoft partners to support development of carbon credit projects and monitoring reports.
Requirements: undergraduate-level understanding of naval architecture and hydrodynamics or equivalent; good working skills with spreadsheets, Matlab (or equivalent), and PowerPoint; strong organizational and digital data/document management capability.

GreenScreen Client Manager

The GreenScreen Client Manager is responsible for managing relationships with owners/owners’ representatives for vessels enrolled in Marsoft’s GreenScreen and carbon credit projects, developing and delivering reports to owners, managing expectations with owners around the development and execution of carbon credit projects, and interacting with Marsoft partners to support development of carbon credit projects and monitoring reports.
Requirements: strong interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills; strong project management skills and experience; connections in and knowledge of the maritime shipping industry a plus.

Staff Accountant
Reports to: Controller, Marsoft Inc.
Location: Boston, MA
Marsoft’s GreenScreen™ provides shipowners with access to carbon credit revenue, which helps finance investments to make both older and new vessels more fuel-efficient. As a part of the Marsoft Team, you will assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial information that will drive key decisions to support growth of the company.
Responsibilities to include:

Daily maintenance of subledgers for Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable and reconciliation to Trial Balance

Assist in the preparation of weekly cash reporting
-
Assist in the preparation of Customer Invoices/ Statements and initiate collections of past due accounts
-
Maintain schedules relating to accounts assigned; prepare analysis/reconciliations and propose journal entries to ensure accuracy of the accounts

Participate in month/quarter/year-end close process

Participate in annual statutory financial audit

Complete ad-hoc projects as assigned

Financial Analyst
Marsoft, a leading international maritime consulting firm, seeks to fill a Financial Analyst position.
You will join a world-class team of shipping market experts dedicated to consulting financial institutions, ship-owners, and charterers, and assisting Clients with decision making to meet both their financial and decarbonization goals.
Responsibilities

Conducting financial evaluations of Clients’ investment portfolios and supporting their decision-making through valuations, forecasts, risk analysis. Analyze trends such as age, and eco-value. Portfolios include debt and equity investments in various shipping sectors, and will be based on Marsoft’s Flagship™ platform.

Product support: assist in the development and optimization of Marsoft’s online platforms (Flagship™ and Navigator™), used by banks, funds and other financial institutions.

Assist in our new decarbonization business:

Evaluate and consult financial institutions on their alignment with global decarbonization efforts.

Support our new carbon credit origination program (GreenScreen™) for leading ship owners

Ad-hoc projects as required
Requirements

Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.

Experience or familiarity with the maritime/shipping space a plus, but not required.

High degree of expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.

Familiarity with statistical packages like EViews and project modeling tools like @Risk a plus.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Familiarity with languages in addition to English a plus.

Undergraduate degree in finance or business-related field, and at least one year of experience in financial modeling and analysis.
