What's
New in SCM 3.02
(00Q2:
May 2, 2000)?
• New Vessel List Report
A report has been added listing a project's vessels (or a selected
subset of them); the report shows the time charter rate (net, 365
days basis), operating costs and secondhand price for each vessel
for the period and market scenario specified. The Vessel List
reports have their own extension (VSL) and can be saved, opened, and
closed in a similar fashion to the project reports (with extension
"PRJ").
• Project Calculate capability
The ability to calculate all the vessels and loans of a project has
been added. Under "Options/Calculate/Selected Projects"
one can select the project to be cal- culated. Under the same
drop-down menu ("Options") the
"Calculate/Vessels" and "Calculate/Loans"
commands trigger calculation of all the vessels and all the loans in
the database. Please use these commands judiciously as it may take a
long time to calculate large databases.
• New Project Grouping option
A new option, "Group", has been added to group projects in
addition to "Shiponwer" and "Status". The user
can enter any string up to 20 characters and save it by clicking on
the Update button. This new project grouping is available after a
project is created (a default "Main" group is assigned at
project creation). When opening a project, the user can sort the
project list by any of the project attributes, including
"Group".
• Restructured Cash Flow Report
The Cash Flow report has been re-arranged by separately grouping the
asset financing section.
• Fleet Summary section in Loan Analysis
report
A fleet summary section has been added at the bottom of the Loan
Analysis report showing the number of vessels, total dwt, available
days for hire, and average daily earnings for the vessels included
in the report.
• Better Layout for Report Definition
form
The Report Definition has been re-cast in landscape format to allow
for larger lists of project vessels and loans to be displayed, and
also in order to better fit 15-inch monitors.
• Annual Format for Charts when annual
reporting mode is selected
When the annual reporting mode is selected the project charts are
drawn on the basis of the annualized data. This feature eliminates
the saw-tooth appearance of some charts in cases where semi-annual
or annual loan repayment is chosen.
• Annual Reporting Mode Column headers
The headers of the columns in the annual reporting mode now display
the quarters included in the period.
• Accrued Interest Calculation in Loan
Detail report
For semi-annual and annual repayment methods, the Loan Detail report
now shows the accrued and unpaid interest for the quarters between
the interest payments.
• Default Scrap Price/LIBOR/Parameters
change
The default LIBOR and Scrap Price can now be changed: with no
project open, please select "Options/Defaults", followed
by the desired option. This change will affect all projects that use
default values for LIBOR, Scrap Price, and Parameters.
• On-line Help
On-line Help has been added.
• New User Guide & Reference, in
hardcopy and electronic (PDF) format
A new User Guide & Reference manual is included with this
release. A copy of the same document in PDF format (readable with
Adobe Acrobat Reader) is included in the accompanying CD-ROM.
• Ability to model vessels controlled under time-charter
It is now possible to simulate a vessel controlled under a time
charter by entering 0 (zero) for the Vessel Price and -100 for
Discount/Premium Applied. The Sale Date should coincide with the
expiration of the charter. The Operating Cost field can be used to
enter the time charter rate to be paid for the vessel. For bareboat
charters, one must enter the sum of operating costs and bareboat
rates in the operating costs data entry area.
• Enhanced Installation Procedure
Please refer to the SCM 3.02 Installation Notes.
